At the heart of my art practice is the word, contemplative. I am given to long serious thought about the essence and identity of beauty. Whether I sense some essential parts of beauty in people or within myself (a ring of truth-a humble soul), I find its spirit in the world around me. Then in whatever piece I am working on I believe these fundamental qualities of beauty reflect a quiet stillness, or an unrest, and that is what I hope to communicate to my audience

Sandra Campbell is a Winnipeg multi-media artist, who works in painting, photography, video and installations. She interweaves elements and symbols from the deep mysteries of life, some of those thoughts coming from the Judeo-Christian world, into powerful reflective works. Campbell returned to University (Fine Arts-Honors) in mid-life and found herself situated in a world of art makers; here she discovered her latent talents. Campbell has been featured in group exhibitions at the following venues in Winnipeg; Ace Art, Mennonite Heritage Center Art Gallery, Martha Street Studios, Label Gallery, Vault Gallery, Wayne Arthur Gallery, and Platform Center for Photo & Digital Arts, Contemporary Dance Studio, Volantis Flying Fish, Winnipeg and in Toronto, at the Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery. Campbell’s photographs have been used by the Mennonite Central Committee, Winnipeg, for reflection and meditation. In October 2007, Campbell was awarded a grant from both WAC and MAC which allowed her to participate in an International Photography show where her work was chosen out of three hundred applicants She has also shown and sold work through the Winnipeg Art Gallery rental department, as well as having a number of commissioned works and paintings in private collections.
