T-Shirt Design Contest
Submit your T-shirt design proposal (rough sketch and text) to programs@mawa.ca with the word “T-shirt” in the subject heading. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 22, 2019 at 4 pm. An honourarium of $400 will be paid to the selected artist, who will work with staff in finalizing the design.

Artist Residency at Art Klub in New Orleans
MAWA is currently accepting applications for a residency exchange program with Art Klub in New Orleans. The deadline for application is Friday, January 25, 2019 for residencies between May - September inclusive, 2019. Women and non-binary MAWA members at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. Equal consideration will be given to emerging and established artists.

Donation to MAWA’s Resource Library from the estate of Helen Lyons
In January MAWA received a special donation of sixty books on women artists and feminism from the estate of Helen Lyons that will be added to MAWA's Resource Library.

Resilience
MAWA has recently obtained funding to exhibit the artworks of 50 contemporary Indigenous women in a cross-country billboard project entitled Resilience, curated by Lee-Ann Martin. In inner cities and on highways—sites from which too many women have disappeared—the presence of Indigenous women will be visible and celebrated through art. MAWA is working closely with our partner Pattison Outdoor Advertising to make it possible.
