Face is a pop up exhibition by Artist in Residence, Tomoko Inagaki featuring three video works, Love Has No Face (3’28’’/2020), Project ‘Doors’ (4’/2022), Room 314 (10’40’’/2022).

Project ’Doors’ is an annual art project that began in 2013. Every year Inagaki shoots a performance where she opens and enters a door in a different location. This year, during her residency, she shot footage of herself entering MAWA's door and added it to the video.

Love Has No Face and Room 314 are scripted videos dealing with love.

Tomoko Inagaki lives and works in Osaka and Kobe, Japan. Her work explores gendered experiences of life, death, nature and artificiality through installation, video, photography and performance. While in Winnipeg she will continue her annual Doors project, a video performance of opening and entering that has been ongoing since 2013. She will also work on a new pandemic-related video work, Protective Screen. tomokoinagaki.com
