A new, free, young feminist group kicks off at MAWA! All women and non-binary people between the ages of 20-26 are invited to join the Flock Art Collective This youngster feminist killjoy crit and craft club will run from January to the end of March. With a foundation of intersectional feminism, the aim of this group is to discuss identity politics in art and to get creative together, focusing on themes of resistance, solidarity, and “the Other”.
The group will meet on the evenings of Thursday, January 14, 21, February 4, 11, and March 3, 10, 24 and 31. Dates are flexible, and activities will be decided upon at a vision meeting to discuss options and goals for the group.
Join group coordinator Christina Hajjar on January 14th, from 6-9pm at MAWA, 611 Main St. (an accessible venue with gender-inclusive washrooms) to help imagine what this group can be. Or visit the Facebook page, Flock Art Collective, for updates.
Free! All women and non-binary people between the ages of 20-26 welcome!
