A variety of local plants can be used to make a wide range of baskets, including wicker, coil, plaited, twined, splint and/or rib baskets. Class will start with a sharing circle where participants can present one or two baskets that they’ve made. Walk with a botanist in search of plants suitable for weaving. Take home samples of local plant materials. Physical distance will be observed, limited space available. Priority will be given to newcomers who are Black or People of Colour. To register and for more information, including location and rain date call 204-949-9490 or email [email protected]
