Stitchen’ Saturdays - Cross Stitch Workshop

Stitchen’ Saturdays is a new, youth group for needle-craft enthusiasts, featuring instruction and social/making time for people of all genders, 14-30 years of age. Led by MAWA Student Intern Lasha Mackedenski, it is an online, creative space for learning and hanging. Need materials? A limited number of supplies are available at MAWA, Wed-Fri. 10-4. Call 204-949-9490 to arrange curbside pick-up.

February 6: Cross Stitch Workshop

Cross stitch uses small, x shaped stitches to fill out a design. Learn the basics of this adaptable style of embroidery and how to draft your own patterns.

Materials Needed:

  • Embroidery thread/floss and regular thread
  • Aida cloth (even-weave fabric, with an easy to count square pattern)
  • Needle with large eye and regular needle
  • Scissors
  • Optional: embroidery hoop and thimble
