Tara Lynn MacDougall (Tiohtià:ke/Montreal) is MAWA's artist in residence for the month of June, 2022.
Tara Lynn MacDougall is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, Quebec. Her interest lies in a critical and humorous re-evaluation of the art historical canon, and reconsideration of distinctions between standard labour and artistic production. While at MAWA, she will be working on several textile pieces (rug hooking) and compiling images for a painting/mixed media project. This new work will interrogate method and material, and ultimately deal with themes of class, gender, value, labour and hierarchy.
