Some of the books donated to MAWA from the estate of Helen Lyons.
In January MAWA received a special donation of sixty books on women artists and feminism from the estate of Helen Lyons. A former member of MAWA, Helen passed away in 2016. As an artist, Helen created clay pottery and sculpture, pained in acrylic and oils and worked in printmaking. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a BA in Art and Art History and a BFA from the University of Manitoba. She was an active member of many arts organizations and a founder member of the South Osborne Art Group. The boooks will be a wonderful addition to MAWA's resource library and will honour Helen's love of art and learning.
