In January MAWA received a special donation of sixty books on women artists and feminism from the estate of Helen Lyons that will be added to MAWA's Resource Library.
MAWA will be closed from Saturday, December 23 through Tuesday, January 2.
MAWA is currently accepting applications for the ArtCenter/South Florida residency exchange program. The deadline for application is Friday, October 13, 2017 for residencies in 2018. Woman-identified MAWA members at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. Equal consideration will be given to emerging and established artists.

MAWA has recently obtained funding to exhibit the artworks of 50 contemporary Indigenous women in a cross-country billboard project entitled Resilience, curated by Lee-Ann Martin. In inner cities and on highways—sites from which too many women have disappeared—the presence of Indigenous women will be visible and celebrated through art. MAWA is working closely with our partner Pattison Outdoor Advertising to make it possible.
