We’d love to know if you are planning to donate a work because it helps us plan the event. Please email [email protected] or call 204-949-9490 to let us know. However, if you don’t get a chance to tell us in advance it is okay to just come by during our drop off times.
We accept donations at MAWA's new location, 329 Cumberland Ave, Suite 203. on the following dates:
If we do not receive your artwork by March 28 at 5pm, we may not be able to include your work in the auction. If none of these times work for you, contact MAWA’s office at 204-949-9490.
Artists are asked to donate one piece of art in any media. Smaller works are preferred! The largest size we can accommodate is 24" x 36". Work can be framed or unframed.
No, although MAWA very much appreciates your generosity we are only able to accept one artwork per artist.
Please fill out a MAWA artist contract and submit it with your artwork. This allows us to keep track of your work, hang or install according to your instructions, and title accordingly. You can fill out a contract at MAWA when you drop off your submission, or you can download a contract here to fill out in advance.
Yes, as a token of MAWA’s gratitude you will be given a complimentary ticket when you drop off your work. The ticket has no cash value.
Yes! Each artist will be able to set a minimum bid on their work, at a level they are comfortable with, from $60 up. We want to ensure that artwork is auctioned for an appropriate value. Wondering how to set your opening bid? Ask yourself at what point you would rather have your work back than see it go for less than a certain price.
Yes! Artists may choose to donate 100% of the sale to MAWA, donate 75% to MAWA and retain 25%, or donate 50% to MAWA and retain 50%. Artists must choose what percentage to donate when dropping off the work and indicate the choice on the artist contract. The percentage cannot be changed once the work has been dropped off. Should the work sell, artists who choose to retain a percentage will be issued a cheque from MAWA that will be mailed to them along with the charitable tax receipt for the donated percentage by the end of May.
Yes, MAWA gratefully welcomes donations from members and non-members alike. We soooooo appreciate donations of artwork from artists. We couldn’t do this fundraiser without our valued artist donors.
Yes! We welcome all artists to participate in Over the Top! We regret we cannot accept children’s work, but kids are more than welcome on the day of the auction.
Yes! Those artists whose works are sold will receive a charitable tax receipt. Charitable tax receipts will be issued for the amount donated to MAWA from the sale of the artwork.
If your work remains UNSOLD at the end of Over the Top, MAWA staff will attempt to contact you by phone or email the Wednesday – Friday the week following the auction to let you know and ask you to make arrangements to pick up your work. If we do not contact you that means your work sold.
Charitable tax receipts will be mailed approximately one month after the auction. You should receive yours by the end of May.
