Beginners welcome! A beading instructor will show you how to use the provided Strawberry Beaded Pin Project Kit, which includes a detailed instruction booklet and all supplies needed to complete a pin. Your pin may not be completed during the workshop, but it will be well started. Further online beading guidance will be available following the workshop.
Jessie Jannuska is a Winnipeg-based multi-disciplinary Indigenous artist and art workshop facilitator. She is mixed Dakota, Ojibway and settler, and is a band member of Canupawakpa Dakota Nation. She graduated with a BFA with honours from Brandon University in 2018. Jannuska works in mixed media, beadwork, comics, acrylic and murals.

About Seven Teachings Art Collective
MAWA is partnering with the Seven Teachings Art Collective to create knowledge-sharing opportunities for young Indigenous Winnipeggers. Throughout the spring, Seven Teachings will be presenting workshops at Pitikwé Skatepark, online, and at MAWA. These events are for Indigenous young people 18 and older. Youth aged 12 and up are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. To register for these free workshops, email [email protected].
