For this online session Genevieve Benoit is teaching how to make earrings with a heart design inside a diamond shape using delica beads and brickstitch.
To register and receive at kit of free materials, email Niamh at [email protected] by Saturday, January 16. Kits can only be delivered to addresses in the city of Winnipeg.
Kits will be delivered on Sunday, January 17 so make sure you register by Saturday, January 16.
If you have your own materials and don't need a kit let Niamh know when you email to register.
Materials needed:
-2 Colours, all size 11 delica beads:
~100 red or pink beads for the heart
~500 beads for the background colour (see photo - this is an estimate)
The background colour should look different from the red or pink (ex: if the red or pink is solid, the other colour should be shiny or pearly and vice versa, for contrast) (will be slightly less beads for workshop)
- White Thread (2 full wingspan's worth).
- 2 Earring Hooks
- 1 Long Beading Needle (one that has some bend, for use with size 11 delica beads).
About the Cross-Cultural Beading Group
Everyone is invited to share their skills, learn and work independently in a welcoming atmosphere. No experience necessary. Novice and experienced beaders of all cultures, ages and genders are welcome.
Some sessions are unstructured: an opportunity to gather and work on our own projects, together. Others feature a guest beader who will share their history with beading and their techniques.
When there is a guest, a kit of free materials (incl. beads, thread, cloth and leather) will be available for you at MAWA or delivered to you. Note that numbers for these sessions will be limited.
